 €20,000 Funding Scheme for individuals, artists, and community groups to support cultural and creative projects in Tuam.

 

About this fund

In 2025 Creative Places Tuam is committed to further supporting the growth of culture and creativity in Tuam. This fund is to support arts, community and social groups, artists and individuals alike to create! To make things happen; to take ideas further, to grow resources and/or deepen connection to communities.

Creative Places Tuam with support from Galway County Council Arts Service is now launching the Cultural Growth Fund with a total sum of €20,000 available.  Applications can be submitted for the minimum amount of €1000 to the maximum amount of €3,000 as dependent on their needs and ambitions.

 

What is it for?

This fund supports creative development.  All practitioners and artforms will be considered in conjunction with how the proposal impacts the creative and cultural development of Tuam and its surrounds.

This fund can:

  • Support the further development of creative work from a Tuam based Artist, arts organisation or community group.
  • Be used to create and design something new.
  • Test out new thinking or put on a new event or activity.
  • Support the production costs around an upcoming exhibition, publication, event or show.
  • Support community groups or individuals to engage with an artist or creative practitioner.
  • Purchase or hire material, equipment.
  • Overheads directly associated with the creative development of Tuam. i.e. rental space, access costs for Artist/practitioners and/or participants for creative community activities.
  • Be used in support of match funding.

Applicants must be living in or working in Tuam or its surrounds. Applications must benefit Tuam and its surrounds.

Please note that applications are only accepted online. Applications submitted using the Reference Only form will not be accepted.

 

Selection process

  1. Eligibility: Applications will be reviewed for eligibility
  2. Shortlisting: Applications will be shortlisted by the Creative Places Team
  3. Selection: Selection will be made by a panel of representatives from Creative Places Tuam stakeholders, an artist and a local representative.

 

Please note:

  • Successful applicants will receive an award offer letter, which must be signed before payment can be made.
  • All issues relating to health and safety, insurance, financial risk and any other matters relating to the work undertaken from this Growth Fund remain the sole responsibility of the applicant / group.
  • Applications will be scored by a panel; this is a competitive fund with only a limited number of awards possible.
  • If an application is successful the applicant / group must agree to take photographs of the activity undertaken during this time and produce a short write up of their experience for social media platforms, websites and email bulletins.  This may be shared through the partners’ and funders’ websites, this includes the Creative Places Tuam Programme, Create and the Arts Council etc.
  • All successful applicants will be contacted by Creative Places Tuam’s evaluator and must take part in the evaluation process as needed.
