Tuam Assembly is a series of conversations between Tuam’s residents and stakeholders to explore their needs and expectations.

These conversations will focus on the way a town is defined: by the connections and relationships that evolve at any given moment in place. We invite all interested residents and stakeholders to join us, to collectively imagine.  According to Doreen Massey, places have multiple identities, are continually constructed and produced rather than static, and are porous rather than well-defined enclosures. This chaos and instability of place can be viewed and embraced as a chance to change, to transform.

These conversations recognise the importance of residents, their knowledge, lived experiences, aspirations, and skills, to planning place.

We will explore individual histories, aims, visions and objectives and by the end of each conversation we will have agreed on specific ways we can enact collective decisions.

Join Isabel for an Artist Talk on Wednesday 30th March, from 6.30 – 7.30 at Tuam Town Hall, where you can learn more about Isabel’s practice and approach to making place.
Isabel will also offer Assembly Workshops, during which the concepts mentioned above will be explored collectively.
