The Roots of Rural Tuam Book Launch

Join us to celebrate the launch of The Roots of Rural Tuam, the first book by Kathleen Treacy, exploring the rich and often complex history of rural Tuam and its surrounding communities.

From Tuam’s ancient origins and changing land ownership to the social and economic realities of rural life in the 1950s, and the changes that shaped the community through the 1960s and 1970s, the book brings together historical research, local stories and personal anecdotes to explore the people, places and experiences that have shaped this part of Galway.

The launch will include a conversation and reading with the author, followed by an opportunity to meet the author, purchase a copy and have it signed. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
