Creative Places Tuam is an arts and culture programme for Tuam and the surrounding area
Creative Places Tuam is a community-led arts programme rooted in the people, stories and spirit of Tuam and its surrounding areas. Together with artists, communities and local partners, we support creative projects, nurture new ideas and celebrate the cultural life of the place we call home.
From artist residencies and commissions to workshops, gatherings, events and funding opportunities, Creative Places Tuam creates spaces for connection, imagination and shared creativity.
From 2027, the programme will become fully locally based, delivered in partnership with Galway County Council Arts Office, continuing the foundations built over five years through the Arts Council of Ireland’s Creative Places initiative and the work of Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts.

Everyone. Whether you are an artist, a maker, a community group, a student, a resident or simply someone who cares about Tuam’s creative future, Creative Places Tuam is for you.
OUR STORY
Creative Places Tuam began in 2020 under the leadership of Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts and coordinated by Create’s Carolann Courtney. Over five years, working alongside local communities, artists and partners, the CPT programme grew from the ground up, supporting creative projects, nurturing partnerships and strengthening connections between Tuam and the wider arts sector nationally.
As the programme enters a new chapter of locally rooted leadership, Create continues in a support and mentoring role ensuring learning and connections are not lost in the transition.
